A pocket bar/cafe for Octane Coffee located along Peachtree Street in a former box-office space of the Woodruff Arts Center. The exceptionally narrow interior volume was further attenuated by mirrored ceilings that double the apparent height, and mirrored alcoves that visually dissolve the interior walls – to create a deeply exterior spatial experience. Light fixtures, in the form of suspended neon arcs, appear as large Octane “O’s” floating overhead. In contrast to the airiness and glass of the primary room, booths and bench areas are enclosing, quiet and comfortable, with a liner of neoprene-laminated felt.
